How This Site Is Written

One editorial desk, public-domain wage data, and no lead selling.

By PriceReality Editorial· Type estimate range, not a quote

This site is written and maintained by one editorial desk, not by contractors and not by a lead-generation company. That has two consequences you should know about.

This page is about how we work. For where the numbers themselves come from, see the method page.

What we do not do

Where the numbers come from

Labor is adjusted with U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS wage data, which is public domain. Material ranges come from published 2026 cost guides and are labelled as such on every page. When a figure is our own modelling assumption rather than a sourced number, the page says so in the same sentence.

What we will not pretend to know

We have state-level wage data. We do not have state-level material pricing, and we do not have city-level data at all. Those are real gaps and you will see them acknowledged on the pages where they matter rather than filled in with invented precision.

Corrections

If a figure here is wrong, write to [email protected] and it gets checked against the source. Pages carry the month they were last reviewed.

Updated October 2026

Figures on this page are computed from the same model used by every calculator on the site, with labor adjusted by U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS wage data.
